We moved to Kamloops from England and thanks to Rie's expert help we bought our home without even seeing it! Rie was recommended to us by a friend we had made in Kamloops, and immediately she went out on a limb to help us find not just a house but a home we could live in for years to come.

She went to prospective homes with a video camera and took as many images as she could and then emailed them to us in England so we could get an idea of the house. She was always very honest with her views and advised us about what work may need doing in the next few years.

When we found the home we wanted she put extra work in to complete the sale for us, which went through in 20 days and completed while we were in Immigration at Vancouver airport!

When we first went into the house we were nervous about whether it would meet our expectations, but needn't have worried, as it was just perfect! We are very happy with our home, and believe without Rie putting in a little extra something we wouldn't have been so lucky!

We have recommended Rie to friends and will continue to do so. A realtor who can get to know their clients well enough to choose their perfect home for them is one to be recommended!

We met James and Rie at an open house they were showing 4 years ago. At this time we were looking for our starter home with interests in making a wise investment. We were overwhelmed by the huge purchase we would be making and were unsure on who to trust our future too.

In the spring of 2004 my husband, while on a trip to help out another family member, was offered a good job. This meant moving our family half way across the country. This also meant he would not be returning to assist me in putting our house up for sale. With two small children to take care of this was a difficult and stressful task for me. Thankfully, I had the help of a wonderful realtor - James Zhou and his very reliable team. Not only is James a very professional realtor, he is also a very compassionate person who looks out for the best interests of his clients. He has high professional and moral standards and is not willing to compromise these standards just to make a sale.

Initially I had planned to remain in Kamloops until our house sold, but this planned to be too difficult on our family. It is very difficult and stressful trying to sell a house when you are not there, but again James and his team stepped up and got the job done for us.

When listing the house, James was quite honest with me in the fact that homes in our area had an average sell time of one year or greater. James had a goal to sell our house in half that time, and, with effective marketing and other strategies, he achieved this goal.

There are no words to express my gratitude to you on behalf of the Sheri Chingee Society. After Sheri’s passing the mortgage holder put the property into foreclosure, which would come into effect January 15, 2004.

I came to you James with this problem and you pledged your word that you would sell the property. Well that you did, and I know it was no easy task – you worked hours and hours, we became very good friends. I saw you every day and had numerous phone calls – every day!

I am Dutch and have an immigration visa for Canada. Kamloops seemed like a nice place with possible work opportunities for me so we talked to James to get an idea of what would be available in terms of housing. In a day and a half, he took my daughter and me all around Kamloops, showed us homes that suited our taste and budget and told us about the pro's and cons of various types of houses as we're unfamiliar with them. He even arranged for us to meet a Dutch immigrant so we could get the Dutch perspective!

We felt very safe buying a home through him. He's honest and does not hesitate to point out possible setbacks to a home. A real no-nonsense and down to earth person, in a most pleasant way.

For reasons totally unrelated to James or Kamloops, we eventually decided to settle in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. When I hesitated about a home in Gibsons and thought I did not know enough to make a decision, I felt comfortable enough to phone James and ask his opinion. He gave me some facts and put my fears to rest. What a great guy! I just got an e-mail from him congratulating me with my new home and saying 'welcome to Canada'.

If I ever move to Kamloops, I'll certainly buy a house through James. I would recommend him to anyone.

This is just a quick note to let you know how much we appreciated your efforts on the recent sale of our house and purchase of our new dream home. We believe you went above-and-beyond the call of duty on the purchase of our new home in June of 2003. Our new dream home ended up being somebody else’s foreclosure. We had no idea what we would have to go through to purchase such a house but you were very knowledgeable in the world of “foreclosures.” Thank goodness too as we had to travel to Kelowna to the Law Courts, not once but twice and James accompanied us both times. With his quick thinking, a wrong was corrected to a right, and we purchased our dream house for 11% less than the listed price.

We then had the task of selling our current house. We could not sell it before closing the deal on the foreclosure as there was the possibility that somebody could outbid us. You kept us calm in that event which was reassuring. We then did a few small things to our current house, which you had suggested would help in the sale, and put it on the market. Due to your expertise on the current house values in Kamloops, we were confident with the listing price… everyone was. Within two days our house had four offers on it and we sold for 4% more than the asking price. It does not get any better than that!

We have dealt with James on four occasions now and have been very pleased with his service and knowledge. On one of our purchases - a rental property, James knew it was a great deal and just what we were looking for. When he could not get in touch with us by telephone, he parked his car at the top of the Juniper Hill and waited for us to go home so that he could show us the property. He knew that if we waited until the next day then it would be grabbed up by another realtor. This act in itself shows you what a dedicated and selfless realtor James Zhou has become.

We do not hesitate to recommend James to anybody who is buying or selling a house. We feel he provides excellent service each and every time. He knows what is on the market as well as their worth. In closing, if you are reading this letter and wondering if James is the Realtor for you… YES he is!

I moved from Kamloops to Victoria several years ago because of a job transfer. I had family renting my townhouse which I owned in Kamloops. When it came time to sell the property I felt at a disadvantage being so far away and living on an island. It is not always a simple matter to leave here and it can be costly!

James' executive assistant, Judi Davidson a former neighbour/friend was aware of my situation and contacted me. It was because of her high recommendation of James' that I hired him without hesitation.

James went "above and beyond" his regular duties. For example, some updating needed to be done on the property to make it more attractive to potential purchasers. James and Judi hired reputable and reasonable contractors to give the place a few added touches.

The place sold within a few days of listing and very close to the amount that I had listed at. I was very pleased and felt very confident the whole time to leave the matters in James and Judi's hands.

I feel James is someone that you can really trust. His dedication doesn't end after the sale. He said I could call him anytime if I needed any advice regarding business matters. In the Spring of 2003 my family and I returned from a 2 year work assignment in South America. Our need for a home in Kamloops was urgent and very narrowly defined because of the size of home and location we needed. The opportunity for our family to fly into Canada to house-hunt was extremely brief and came on short notice.
